Submitted By - aaron flesher i have been a lineman for 5 years now and currently work on a linecrew in terre haute, indiana.  a few years ago i was responding to a "no light" call at a residence while i was on service watch in mid december.  it was evening and as i approached the driveway i noticed the residence indeed had lights.  i thought immediately customer breaker, but still needed to check with the customer as to what their problem was.  an elderly lady answered the door and began to tell me what was going on in the house.  i asked the usual questions and with the answers she gave me quickly concluded that there was no problem on our side.  i thought i would help her out by maybe steering her in the right direction to solve her blinking light problem.  she took me into her kitchen and showed me a night light she had plugged into the outlet.  she said everthing was just fine until she changed the bulb earlier that day. as soon as i saw what was goin on i just about lost my composure with laughter, but i did have a huge grin.  i asked where did she get the replacement bulb from, and she took me to the garage where she pointed to a big plastic tub that said "christmas decorations" on it.  she had put a blinking decorative bulb in the night light!!!  she just couldnt believe it and appoligized many times over for getting me out after hours.  i bid her a merry christmas and laughed all the way home!
